5E
Button Pressed Too Long (5E / SE)
Description
On a Samsung oven, 5E — which some displays show as SE — means a button has been registered as pressed for longer than 10 seconds. Samsung names three causes: the button really was held down, water got onto the button, or the button is faulty.

Additional Troubleshooting
1. Unplug the oven or switch off its circuit breaker and wait 1-2 minutes.
2. Check every button on the control panel for dirt and water — dirt or drops of water can make the oven think a button is pressed.
3. If there is water, wipe the panel thoroughly with a dry cloth and let it dry for 1-2 hours. If there is other dirt, clean it off carefully.
4. Switch the oven back on. If 5E does not come back, the oven is fine; if it does, contact an authorised Samsung service centre.
