E011

Button Pressed Too Long or Stuck

Description

E011 means the oven's electronics have registered a button that has been pressed for too long or has stuck. Bosch's manual also covers the case where a button is covered or dirty. On Bosch freestanding ranges in the US, the same code is described as a touch sensor failure on the oven control panel. The code appears on the oven display, and on models that show error messages starting with 'E' the manual lets you clear it yourself.

Possible Causes

  • A button has been held down for too long
  • A button has stuck and does not return
  • A button is covered by something lying on the control panel
  • Dirt on the button or the control panel
  • A fault in the touch sensor of the oven control panel

Additional Troubleshooting

1. Make sure nothing is lying on the control panel or pressing against it.
2. Press every button one by one and check whether any of them is stuck, covered or dirty.
3. Clean the control panel and wipe it dry.
4. On models with an error message starting with 'E', press the clock button. The message disappears, and the time function you had set is deleted.
5. Switch the oven off at the circuit breaker, wait about five minutes, then switch it back on.
6. If the message does not go away or keeps coming back, call Bosch customer service and give them the exact code. Repairs to the electronics must be done only by an authorised technician.
